Qaaidah (foundation of reading)
Students will be taught to:
Recognise all of the different formations of the Arabic letters
Read with the correct pronunciation of the letters and its vowels (fathah, kasrah, dhummah)
Stretch all letters for the correct length (maddul:alif, waaw and yaa)
Apply the rules for sukoon and shaddah correctly
Apply the rules for Tanween (fathatayn, karahtayn, dhummahtayn) correctly
Differentiate between a normal hamzah and hamzatul wassul
Apply rules of Tajweed in recitation of Qur’aan
Read with fluency and confidence
Qur’aan
Students will be taught to:
Complete memorisation of Juz Amma within 1 year under the guidance of the teacher for the purpose of modelling and correcting any errors. (Those who finish prior to the end of the year can begin Juz Tabaarak)
Apply correct Tajweed rules when reciting
Recite with passion
Islamic Studies
Students will be taught to:
Aqeedah (of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his Companions and those who followed him upon that)
Fiqh (Jurisprudence)
General Adaab (manners) and Akhlaq (etiquettes) and character development are expected to be embedded naturally in the routine of the class.
Seerah (stories of the Prophets, Messengers, Companions and Scholars of Islam)
